Migrates Full PeopleSoft Suite From OCI-C to OCI With Metaformers as Their Strategic Partner
Government (LFUCG) to OCI during the COVID-19 pandemic. The migration included the full PeopleSoft financial and human resources suites—one of the largest application footprints in the Oracle cloud. This migration followed the combined team’s migration to the first-generation Oracle cloud infrastructure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic (OCI-C), in 2018.

The project already had a tight schedule for moving to the new OCI platform when COVID-19 hit. We moved our staff to work from home and established new processes and ways to communicate among ourselves and with our customers. It was our continuous partnership with Metaformers that was constant and critical to our success.
Results
The Metaformers and LFUCG team were ready to go live in the new cloud in under four months. This migration brought additional benefits to the client, including:
Improved region availability
High-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML)
An improved hypervisor based on KVM
Improved performance and monitoring insight through Oracle Management Cloud (OMC)
Expanded Oracle features like compartments, availability domains, virtual cloud networking (VCN), and bare metal (BM)
PeopleSoft on OCI—a Natural Combination
PeopleSoft will be supported until at least 2031, thanks to the 10-year rolling commitment that Oracle has made. LFUCG has been a PeopleSoft-supported organization since 2006. They have continued to gain benefits with upgrades, such as the migration to OCI.
